English and Me

Hi everyone! welcome to my blog. After all this years, i finally had my own blog. Oh yeah, i almost forgot to introduce myself. My name is Alexander Sebastian, peoples usually call me Alex or Lex. I'm 18 y.o. and i'm from Pati, Central Java.

Okay, so what is this blog? What am i gonna upload? Or this is gonna be another failure project? Well, long story short, i went to Uni, and i attend an ICC class (Integrated Communicative Course). And this blog is the place to submit all of the assignment from that class. So as long as i attend that class, i'll always post something in this blog. But why Alex's English Hut? Well, thats's because every post in this blog is gonna be in english (well i maybe gonna throw a little Indonesian language here and there, but mostly is english), and i couldn't find a better name than that....I'm sorry.

Anyway, in this first post, i'm gonna tell you about my english experience. Lets just say, it is not a good start. My family is not good with english, and so am i. Back then, i only speak Indonesian language. I can't even speak javanese properly. But i can't blame my family for all that. Well thats because we live in a small city where only certain people can speak english, and anytime i tried to speak english, one of my friend will shout "Sok inggris lu!". And i just jealous to the people who can speak english properly. I always thinking "wow, their english is so dope, i hope i can be like that someday". So i keep learning and learning, doing some exercises, and now here i am....Studying english in SWCU (what a progression)

And now...its time for the backstories, Who introduced you to english? Well, it goes back to 2015, when i received my first BlackBerry phone......and become a YouTube addict. Back then, i always watch youtube, anytime, non-stop, 24/7. And back then, there's only a few Indonesian youtuber that i found funny, the rest of them i just found it boring (its just my opinion, please don't hurt me). So i tried to search for a foreign youtube channels. and i found PewDiePie

          (Source : https://www.tubefilter.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/pewdiepie-youtube-subscribers.jpg)

PewDiePie is the first foreign youtubers i found, and i totally addicted to him (no homo tho...). And obviously, he speaks english. So to enjoy his content, i need to know what he's talking about. And back then, my method to understand english is by watching him without subtitle (believe it or not), and it works (also because back then, there is no subtitle......only the auto-generated one, i think). Also, i learn english from games......specifically Warcraft III : The Frozen Throne. I also watch some movies, and listen to western music. So i keep splashing my brain with english words over and over.

Speaking of english, my fav english skill is reading. Why? because you just need to read.....nothing more. You just need to read and understand the text you just read. And the one i don't like is speaking. Because.....i'm a shy person. When i speak, once i slipped, i just want to evaporate from this world.

And if you can't tell, my english is not that good. My grammar is a mess, and my spelling is not that good either. And my pronounciation is the worst. But hey, that is the reason why i go to Uni, to improve my english skill, and increase my confidence. Believe and You Shall Achieve.

I think thats it for today. If you still reading up to this point, i just wanna say thank you so much. Now if you excuse me, i need to watch Boris Johnson funny moments compilation. Anyway, see you in my next post. And most importantly, don't forget to drink water.
